A Little History

Before purchasing this vehicle I knew little to nothing about Corvettes. I had always liked the body design of the C3s though. I had ridden in one a couple of times but never drove one.

A buddy at work owned this one. He would drive it in once a month or so. One day he mentioned he was going to sell it. When I asked him why he said a delivery truck hit the car while in his driveway. It put some damage on the right front corner. He wasn't up to fixing it and the estimate to repair the damage was about $3,000.

The car had 78,000 miles on it. It was painted the original two tone blue with Collector Edition wheels and was pretty much stock through out. A check of the damage on the front end didn't look too bad. I had done some fiberglass work years earlier so I wasn't afraid to tackle this little crunch.

I wasn't looking for a car but when he said he wanted $3,500 I thought about it for two seconds and said bring in the title.

I knew little more about this vehicle than it had removable tops, it was a Chevy with a broken up right front corner and I just paid $3,500 for it. It was my full intention to simply buy a bra to cover the damage and spend the upcoming summer driving around with the T-Tops off. How easy it and fun it would be.

It all started that way until ten minutes into the first job when "that thingy over there needs some fixing" occurred. After nearly two years in a reconstruction coma, with no money left , bruised body parts, and lot of tools I hadn't seen before it was driveable. The saga continues....
